Here's how to book

1. Head to Google Flights and use their handy calendar tool to find the best travel dates for your route, by locating the dates with the lowest fares. If you prefer to book directly (higher fares, lower change fees), then follow the link to the airline website and book.

Note: These are quite easy to spot in Google Flights, but I've listed a few example dates that all seem to work for most routes as of this writing (NYC has fewer options than the other 3 cities):
  • Dec 17 - Jan 3
  • Dec 18 - Jan 4
  • Dec 20 - Jan 7
  • Dec 21 - Jan 8
  • Dec 22 - Jan 2
  • Dec 23 - Jan 3
  • Dec 26 - Jan 5
  • Dec 27 - Jan 6

2. To get the lowest possible fares (those listed above), head over to Momondo, re-enter your itinerary and book with an OTA (online travel agent) once all the results have loaded.
