We gather here today to mourn the loss of another non-stop Lima route 🪦

First BA, then LATAM, who knows if we'll ever get another. In the meantime, this is by far your quickest and cheapest way of ticking Machu off your bucket list.

These dates mostly span the shoulder season, but don't let that put you off! Flight Finder Lauren visited last March and lucked out with balmy sun and crystal clear views :-)

Lauren's top tips:

After buying your flights to Cusco, book your Machu Picchu tickets ASAP. Choose a ticket that has circuit 2 as this is the one with that classic terrace/mountain viewpoint.
The trains to reach Aguas Calientes (the town with Machu Picchu) are pretty overpriced. If you have the time, I'd suggest taking the bus for £10, otherwise the £45 train is your only option.
On the day, skip the £20 shuttle bus up and opt for the 1.5 hour hike up to the entrance. It's a relatively easy trek which zigzags up the mountain through lush greenery. We started the walk around 9am and had the entire trail all to ourselves!
Use the toilet BEFORE you enter the sight! Around the entrance you'll find cafés, gift shops and most importantly, toilets. Once you scan your ticket and cross into Machu Picchu, there are no facilities and staff won't let you jump out and back in again. So, unless you want to cross your legs for 2-3 hours before you exit, go before you enter.
