These are looking decent for anyone who can jump on a plane in the next couple of months - and it gets you there just before the rain arrives, which is a very nice bonus.

Because of that, we think this is a really nice stepping stone to the beaches of the Philippines. Read on for an introduction of one of the country's best swimming spots.

After you land...

A quick flight from Manila whisks you away to an emerald archipelago made up of 1,700 islands. It has a seemingly endless supply of sun-kissed beaches, volcanic lakes, hidden waterfalls and caves.

Most likely find yourself face planted somewhere on the sands of El Nido, Puerto Princesa, Coron, or San Vicente.

Coron in particular should get a special shout-out for any history-buffs-turned-scuba-divers. It's been crowned the wreck-diving capital of the world, with dozens of sunken battleships to explore.
