It's not all streetcars and custard tarts… Okay, maybe it is!

It'd be a sin to step back on U.S. soil without memories of mornings spent riding Lisbon's iconic, rattling yellow trams. Hurtling down tight alleyways, dodging passengers, cars, and cats is a rite of passage here — and is way more adrenaline inducing than you'd anticipate.

Don't even think about attempting to hork down a pastel de nata on one of these babies, it'll end up on someone's lap. A crying shame, especially when you've trekked all the way to Manteigaria to taste the OG of natas. 

Sintra's probably on your must-see list too. We don't blame you, it's an absolute marvel. But may I suggest a not-so-quick detour? It's worth it, promise. 

From Sintra, hail a bus bound for Cabo da Roca. You'll have sweeping, wind-swept views of the westernmost point of Europe. Ditch the flip-flops, you'll need something with a bit more grip to reach this secret beach ;-)
