Apart from lucky Frankfurt, who gets the only non-stop connection in Europe, the rugged plains of Mongolia are all but a dream for most budget bucket-listers.

Until this morning, that is, when we unearthed these flights hidden in the depths of Skyscanner. We know the price may seem a little eyebrow raising, but considering that fares are typically well over £1000 rtn, we are thoroughly impressed.

After you land...

Despite Mongolia being suuuper cheap to live in, that isn't always the case for tourists, so here are a few tips for staying on budget:

Book accommodation when you get there – Sounds scary, but if you just pre-book a room for the first night, you'll get a much better rate for the other nights when booking face to face.
Travel with friends – Mongolia isn't exactly overflowing with tourists, meaning if tours aren't filled, they can be cancelled or cost extra. The solution: bring friends—you might even snag a discount!
Rent a 4x4 – Even cheaper than an organised tour—split the cost of a car, and you won't have to worry. Make sure to plan your route in advance and stay topped up on gas!
Wild camping – In general, Mongolian's have the view that the land belongs to all. So, as long as you're respectful and well-equipped (warm layers and a waterproof tent), wild camping can save you a decent chunk of change.
