This page is to let you know how best to use the group to make the most of it and to ensure the group is used in a way that's helpful to everyone.

To help maintain a great environment, we’ve upheld some rules about what posts we allow in the group and in our comment threads:
Please No Flight-Finding Questions
This is a great space for asking about destination-specific advice, like what to do, eat, or what to see while on location. As it is a group full of bargain-flight hunters, we ask that you do not post flight-finding questions as this would really take over the other conversations. If you’d like more input on how to find a flight deal, be sure to stop by for our monthly Flight-Finding Expert Q&A, which is where you can ask any of your flight-specific questions, or send an email to support via [email protected].
Search For Answers From Previous Posts First
Sometimes, some destinations are more popular than others. Please use the search feature in the group to search for previous or similar posts that might have the answer you're looking for. If your post is rejected as the topic has come up before but you don’t find the specific answer you’re looking for, please feel free to repost with more details to make your post unique :)
No Self-Promotions or Spam
As we’d like to keep the content focused on giving great destination or travel advice, please don’t include links that benefit you or go back to a personal blog, site, or social channel (Youtube included) on any posts or comments in the group.
No Rude Language or Bullying
Our goal is to make sure everyone feels safe, welcome, and judgement-free in the group. Bullying of any kind isn't allowed, and degrading comments about things like race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will not be tolerated.
Also, please be sure to be kind and courteous to everyone in the group. While you may see preferences and opinions that don’t match your own, please do not respond with negative language. If you see something that shouldn’t be in the group, please report to moderators and scroll on.
Use Specific Language
Include as many details as possible to get the answer you're looking for: country, dates, why you're asking, preferred activities, cities interested in, mode of transport, people travelling, etc. We want to help you and details make this possible!
Keep It In the Group
Please, no requests to direct message or offers to contact privately - this is for your security and to make sure we can offer guidance when different topics come up. Similarly, we are not a couchsurfing or meetup group, please consider posting these requests onto our sister group, JFC Buddy Travel Group, when appropriate.
When Appropriate, Ask the Professionals
Some questions should be asked only of a professional: what vaccinations to get, what visa to get, how to get compensation from a company, and other issues are outside the scope of this group. We can suggest where to pursue your answers, but would like you to trust what the experts say.
What to do if your post or comment is rejected or deleted?
When a comment is removed from a post or a post request is not approved for publishing, that means it went against one of our group rules and was declined or deleted. As part of the process of declining or removing a comment or post, you’ll receive a notification in Facebook with a note on why this happened.
In case you think your comment or post was removed by mistake, please feel free to get in touch with us to discuss it, either through our main Facebook page here or via email at support@jacksflightclub.com with a copy of what your post or comment contained.
We can help identify why this was removed and to either provide an answer to your question or work with you on what to change so it’s approved next time :)
How do I search for a topic in the group?
We have some great past conversations that can answer your questions about popular topics, destinations, or situations that can be very handy when answering your own questions. To search the group, you have a couple different ways depending on which device you're using:
When using iPad or tablet:
The option to search in your tablet or iPad can be found all the way at the top of your screen, outlined in red here (just be sure to choose 'In the group' to show search results within the community):
When using your mobile device:
To search the group using your mobile device, just search for the magnifying glass located at the top right-hand corner of your screen. This will pull up the search box, where you'll be able to search the contents of the community:
When using a web browser:
When in the group on your web browser, the search box should be in the left-hand sidebar of your screen, just below the group options selection:
Searching using Post Topics
Alternatively, if you're looking for a bit of inspiration, you can browse post topics by category under the 'Post Topics' tab, which is organised into geographical regions, with some special mention to some travel types too.
When on a desktop:
You'll be able to see a list of popular post topics on the lower right-hand side, and all should show if you click on 'see more' at the bottom of this section.
When using a mobile device, scroll the tabs bar to the right until you see 'Topics':
Here, you can see all of the categories listed where you can select whichever one you'd like to browse:
What if I don’t like something in the group?
See a post or comment (either from us or from another member) in the group and want to say something about it? We’d love to hear more from you! Send us an email to support@Jacksflightclub.com or message to our main Facebook page here with more details on what you’re seeing and why you’re not happy with it being in the group. We’ll be happy to discuss it with you and remove the content if appropriate.
Also, if the content should be removed straight away, you can report it through the Facebook system here for our moderators to review:
Reported content in our group are reviewed as soon as possible and their removal will be actioned immediately if needed.
Who decides what is approved?
We’re lucky enough to have a team of dedicated moderators, who are members of the group who have proven to be positive, active members of the group and are approached to oversee post requests and make sure the comments follow our group rules. While they are often JFC fans and are gifted membership to compensate for their activity, they are not part of the Jack’s Flight Club team. They make decisions on posts according to the group rules and try to keep the group a supportive and friendly place.
